Incheon National University and Jeju National University Sign “Learncation” Agreement
Incheon National University and Jeju National University Sign “Learncation” Agreement
“I once participated in Jeju National University’s credit exchange program during my time as a student, and I can still vividly remember taking classes and making precious memories amid Jeju’s beautiful natural surroundings. I’m truly pleased and a bit envious that, through this agreement, my juniors will be able to enjoy even more benefits,” said Gu, a recent graduate of INU’s Department of Urban Engineering.
In line with Gu’s story, the “Learncation” program—combining credit exchange with regional experiences—will be officially introduced through a memorandum of understanding between Incheon National University and Jeju National University.
“Learncation,” a concept blending learning and vacation, allows participating students to earn seasonal semester credits while experiencing Jeju’s unique nature and culture. Through this agreement, INU students dreaming of “living in Jeju for a month” will gain a meaningful opportunity to balance academics and travel at the same time.
The signing ceremony was held on July 24 at Jeju National University, attended by INU President Lee In-jae and JNU President Kim Il-hwan. The agreement includes key provisions such as: △ joint operation of the Learncation program, △ development of programs for solving regional issues and contributing to society, and △ creation of participatory educational programs to promote Jeju’s values.
Meanwhile, INU representatives also visited Jeju National University’s College of Medicine to benchmark the process and operational system of establishing a medical school, as part of INU’s efforts to establish a public medical school.
