Incheon National University’s Work-Study Dual Training Center (Director Choi Jae-hyuk) announced on the 3rd that it had received an “A grade” in the Advanced Industry Academy Work-Study Dual Program performance evaluation, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
The performance evaluation for the Work-Study Dual Program comprehensively assesses the level of field-oriented education, satisfaction of trainee workers and participating companies, and goal achievement rates. In this year’s evaluation, INU scored highly in areas such as ▲ exceeding set goals, ▲ retention and management of trainee workers and participating companies, ▲ operation of practical, field-based training, ▲ improvement of trainees’ job competencies, and ▲ satisfaction of both trainees and participating companies.
Since introducing the Work-Study Dual Program in 2017 to improve employment rates, Incheon National University has focused on nurturing talent in cutting-edge fields such as biotechnology and semiconductors, having secured the 2024 Advanced Industry Academy project. The university continues to expand participation from both academic departments and industry partners.
Director Choi Jae-hyuk stated, “Achieving an A grade is a meaningful first evaluation result for the Advanced Industry Academy project, representing a major accomplishment through collaboration between center staff, university stakeholders, and companies in fostering field-oriented talent. We will continue to create an environment where both businesses and universities can grow, and contribute to regional development and higher employment rates through the cultivation of outstanding talent.”
Meanwhile, the Work-Study Dual Program is a government-recognized initiative in which companies hire enrolled students as trainee workers, providing on-site, job-related training. The program aims to foster industry-tailored talent, create sustainable employment opportunities, and contribute to improving field training completion rates and employment rates for universities.
