INU Korea Training Program for Japanese High School Students
INU Korea Training Program for Japanese High School Students Successfully Concluded
The Office of International Affairs at Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee) announced that it successfully operated the “INU Korea Training Program” for Japanese high school students from March 23 to March 28, 2026, as part of a collaborative project with 15 Korean Education Centers in Japan. A total of 19 Japanese high school students were invited to participate in the program, which introduced Korean culture and higher education.
The program was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Korean universities and deepen their interest in Korea. During the six-day, five-night program, students stayed in Songdo—home to the INU campus—and engaged in a variety of educational and experiential activities.
Key components of the program included lectures on the Korean higher education system and admissions process, as well as K-content cultural experiences, which received enthusiastic responses from participants. Students also had opportunities to interact with INU students, allowing them to experience university life in Korea firsthand and broaden their perspectives on future academic pathways.
In addition, campus tours and university introduction sessions enabled participants to gain a more concrete understanding of the academic environment and program structure of Korean universities. Some students expressed strong interest in studying in Korea and actively participated in Q&A sessions.
Hong Jin-bae, Vice President for International Affairs at Incheon National University, stated, “This program provided Japanese youth with a valuable opportunity to directly experience Korean culture and education,” adding, “We will continue to contribute to fostering global talent and strengthening international friendship through diverse exchange programs.”
One participant, Yura from Hanazono High School in Japan, who joined the program upon recommendation from the Osaka Korean Education Center, shared, “I have been studying Korean for over a year to pursue studies in Korea, and I was very interested in Korean universities. It was a great opportunity to better understand Korean higher education and interact with university students.”
Meanwhile, Incheon National University plans to continue expanding its international exchange programs and global education network by inviting more overseas students in the future.
